Recently started to learn about COD4 mods and i think COD4 just got new life with me.
We should get together to play COD4 mods and find one we all agree to play at the next PLR

Which mods do you play regularly?

have any sites for newbies to catch up?

are all COD4 mods server side?

how do you find out which maps to download and where so you can just play without downloading maps you don't have the first time when you are trying to play?

I recommend you always get your maps from the server you are playing on, which means downloading the first time you play that map at that server. Good servers will have a means of downloading quickly. All mods should be server-side, but require materials and models to be downloaded to the player upon connection to the server.

I cannot speak from experience on cod4, but this is basically how it's supposed to work.

Side note: stay away from fps banana, they offer many files conveniently for fps games as far as maps and mods and stuff, but the site is a horrible risk. I have seen trojans install from viewing 4 pages of that site with firefox and no addons, it's simply festering with bad mojo.

wow, thanks for the fps banana tip, never ran into that site.

My experience with mods has been mostly with the battlefield games and with those you have to download the mods and install them and then you can play them on servers running the mod. I was trying to save time so i didn't have to wait on map downloads each time i played a game.

i found a cod4 mod based on the css gun game. worth checking out. if enough people like it or one of the other mods....we could use to play at PLR.

I found 1 mod that had big maps for cod 4 but i forgot the name and now i'm trying to find it again LOL

well, if anybody here plays cod4 mods, leave a note to let us know which are the better ones.
